My Favorite Guitar Players

Brett Garsed - one of the best improvising rock fusion guitar players in the world. Great teacher too.

Greg Howe - my favorite fusion shredder.

Ty Tabor - legendary guitar player, singer, and songwriter. Progressive rock with a bluesy edges. Bands include King's X, Platypus, Jughead, Solo Albums, Xenuphobe and The Jelly Jam.

Monte Montgomery - if you think you are a good guitar player you should check out Monte. He does things on the acoustic guitar that most guitar players would only dare to dream of doing on the electric.

Steve Lukather - the legendary guitar player for band TOTO does more than soft rock. Insane player and incredible solo albums.

Eric Johnson - one of the local legends here in Austin and around the world.

John Petrucci - one of the best shredders around. I've seen Dream Theate 6 times and Mr. Petrucci never disappoints.

Tony Palacios - one of my biggest influences in my early days of playing. Great guitar player from the band Guardian, now a producer.

Jon Finn - fun guy and a great progressive rock/fusion player. He's an instructor at Berklee College Of Music too.

Shawn Lane - one of the best technical players in history. Died way too early and left an incredible musical legacy.

Steve Morse - melodic meets technical with this very influential player.

Frank Gambale - one of the grand daddy's of fusion rock music. If you like sweep picking you owe it to yourself to check out some of his music.

Doyle Dykes - the best acoustic guitar player I have ever seen. Made me re-think the guitar!

Paul Gilbert - one of the guitar players that helped to write the book on shredding.

Lincoln Brewster - super tasteful player. The player to listen to for modern chuch gig music.

Richie Kotzen - mix soulful rock, blues with a little fusion and you get Richie Kotzen. Amazing!

Stevie Ray Vaughan - the name says it all.

Guthrie Goven - incredible insrumental guiar music. The next Steve Vai in my opinion.

Phil Keaggy - legendary acoustic and electric guitar player. One of the most prolific and tasteful players out there.
